Mission

Vision

We imagine a world where healing through the arts can be accessed anywhere, by anyone.

Mission

Our mission is to transform lives through the innate power of the arts, guided by mental health practices, to foster healing, connection, and resilience for all.

Through community service, free program offerings, virtual trainings, and curriculum manuals, we empower the public to apply mental health-guided arts practices sustainably in their own lives and communities.

Values

Throughout our community service and organizational culture, we strive to adhere to the following guiding principles:

COLLABORATIVE – We are a collective of creative professionals and collaboration is part of our DNA. We develop effective arts practices and experiential arts programs with creative arts therapists and leaders in the field. We work co-creatively with our community partners in accordance with their needs. And we, at the organizational level, operate, make strategic decisions, and serve our mission as a team.

INNOVATIVE – We are committed to finding creative ways to strengthen arts practices, to maximize their social and emotional impact, and to sustain implementation.

HOLISTIC – We promote the use of all art forms (visual, performing, and/or literary arts) within and across our program offerings to meet broader community needs, and we encourage their integration for symbiotic benefits.

INCLUSIVE – We strive to ensure that all have access to the healing benefits of the arts. We develop creative strategies without judgment to enable those we serve to feel seen, heard, and validated. We honor lived experiences as a source of wisdom. We believe that shared creative experiences can heal disconnection and cultivate community.

RESILIENT – We are attuned to the needs of the community and prepared to meet them as they arise. Our approach encourages individuals and communities to play an active role in their own well-being, while fostering a culture of healing-centered arts engagement.

GENEROUS – We meet people where they are with the intention of proliferating kindness, compassion, and community. We believe transforming lives through creative expression should be financially accessible.

Purpose

  • To improve individual and community health through healing-centered arts experiences aimed at stress reduction and social support—without any stigma of mental health.
  • To refine the support process for creative expression to maximize engagement and dialogue in the context of trauma, culture, neurodiversity, and lived experience.
  • To mitigate the increasing societal health care burden from chronic diseases rooted in emotions and behavior.
  • To increase access to healing, connection, and resilience through easy-to-implement arts approaches in health care, educational, and recreational settings—creating a public health safety net.
  • To provide a humanizing complement to increasingly technological medical care that can enhance the environment of treatment.
  • To secure the place of the arts in our culture by validating their health benefits and exposing youth to their transformative value through insights gained from supportive experiences.
  • To amplify the quality of arts experiences for the dual benefit of the public as well as service providers.

Founded in 2004, we are a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization.
