Join us in building and strengthening our relationships using expressive and collaborative art-making recipes. Based on Recipes for Connection, a social and emotional arts curriculum created for families, healers, and educators, this online, experiential workshop focuses on art activities aimed at helping us connect with ourselves and others. Join with a family member (of any age!), friend, roommate, and/or a significant other to experience the connecting power of the arts.

Instructor Bio

Dr. Jessica Bianchi LMFT, ATR-BC is a licensed marriage and family therapist, board-certified art therapist, assistant professor at Loyola Marymount University (LMU), and the Clinical Director of the Helen B. Landgarten Art Therapy Clinic. Having received her doctorate in educational leadership and social justice as well as her master’s in marital and family therapy/art therapy from LMU, Jessica has developed a specialized skill set that integrates concepts from art therapy and education as a way to promote social justice and community activism amongst diverse populations. Jessica thrives on collaboration and has facilitated therapeutic arts services in numerous contexts including residential group homes, outpatient clinics, K – high school settings, medical centers, and federal correctional institutions as well as provides consultation and professional development on the topics of art therapy, trauma-informed educational practices, and arts and social emotional competencies. Additionally, Jessica also provides clinical services in her Echo Park private practice with adults, youth, and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief, and trauma.

Amber L Cromwell, LMFT ATR-BC is a board certified art therapist, arts educator, and mental health advocate. She is most passionate about her work in community spaces, bringing people together for collaborative art making, and offering opportunities for positive self-expression. Amber has an online private practice, provides art therapy groups in LAUSD schools with Cedars-Sinai Share & Care program, and is always finding ways to collaborate with agencies who are as excited as she is to influence healing and connection through the arts. She is a clinical supervisor in the Helen B Landgarten Art Therapy Clinic and the Project Director of the Summer Arts Workshop at Loyola Marymount University.
