Instructor Bio
Weaving together expertise as a teacher, facilitator, and coach into her psychotherapy and art therapy practice, Amy Lister, RP(Q), DTATI, PCC, OCT offers a blend of care, creativity and connection in her work with clients. In psychotherapy sessions, she takes a person-centered approach integrating conversation, silence, reflection, body-based, and mindfulness-compassion-based practices. In art therapy sessions, she explores nature, art materials, and found objects in creative process and artmaking as part of the psychotherapy wellness journey. As a facilitator of the Work That Reconnects, developed by root teacher Joanna Macy, she offers groups and workshops to help people practice moving through places of pain and overwhelm into active hope and deeper inspired action, together.
Along with her degree in outdoor and experiential education, a masters in holistic education, and post graduate diplomas in executive coaching and art psychotherapy, her experience as a parent and caregiver of aging parents help to balance the theory and practice of well-being in her approach to therapeutic work. Throughout her life the expressive arts have helped to process big feelings and make meaning during times of loss, transition, and struggle. Amy enjoys bringing people together to share stories, wisdom, and inspiration in support of one another.
